I saw the stock photo and thought 'what a cool photo, if only it weren't from such an orthographic angle.' So I decided to try and excite the concept. Originally, many ideas passed through my head; too many to list here. I considered making her a mermaid, a fairy floating through some woods, an elf, a satyr... I considered vertically flipping the composition which opened up a whole new galaxy of possibilities. I realized that anyone else in the contest would probably be thinking those very same things. So I went with the last idea that popped into my head: same concept; more excitement.
And if you're wondering why I named it: "Interpret This", well, it just felt right. Recently, I have inched away from contriving titles and instead I go with what feels right.

We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you  the news article as well as check out the individual pieces.
